Historically speaking, attacks with assault rifles have been stymied by individuals with pistols. The Tyler Tx courthouse would be an example. Trolley Square another.

Often the shooter will self-destruct upon encountering armed resistance, but even if they don't, as long as they are occupied by some form of armed resistance, it gives people time to get away, and SWAT time to arrive.

Tyler Tx being a primary example. Arroyo Sr. was prevented from shooting his kid by Mark Allen Wilson. Wilson himself was indeed killed, because Arroyo was wearing a bulletproof vest and flak jacket, but it saved the kid, halted the attack, and gave SWAT time to show up and put Arroyo down.

So I don't see where the logic concludes what you have assumed.

That said, I'm not convinced arming the school is a great idea. So far, actual police officers have lost guns in schools. (usually in the bathroom) and that is introducing a hazard to the situation.

who 1) has never discharged an arm in a crisis situation

2) is a guard who has never been in a crisis situation.

People don't react the way they assume they will when they have a gun. They are much slower. I saw a study on it on the news. If there was an armed guard at Sandy Hook Lanza would have been aware of that and would have put himself in a situation where he could see the door.

8. I noticed I had a problem with aphids on my roses last year.

This time I am prepared. I have a 12 gauge double barrel shotgun setting here at the door. The first sign of an aphid on those roses and "BOOM" both barrels. That'll take care of 'm.

This is how I see the arming of schools and what these maniacs are trying to subject my children to. The hell with these gun freaks.
