A “Red Pill” Redditor Explains Why Wanting To Not Be Raped is Like Throwing a Tantrum for a Pony

Some words of wisdom from TheRedPill subreddit, a lovely little subdivision of Reddit devoted to a sort of mishmash of Men’s Rights and Pickup Artistry. It’s at least as ridiculous as the sum of its parts.

And I can prove that with actual numbers. Well, a single number: 95. That’s the number of net upvotes the comment I took the following quotes from had gotten from the assembled Red Pillers (at least when I last looked at it). Let’s listen in as Whisper enlightens us on a variety of topics:

Men have never had an easy ride unless they were one of the aristocracy. We’ve always been the labouring sex, the risk-taking sex, the disposable sex.

Little known fact: Poor women throughout history have never had to work or suffer at all, having been issued comfy pillows and a lifetime supply of bon-bons at birth from the Invisible Matriarchy.

The Squeaky Vagina Gets the Grease:

When something unfair happens to a woman, her usual response to point this unfairness out to whoever appears to have power. But men, being less submissive, tend to blame ourselves, ask “What am I doing wrong?”, and try to change either our behaviour or our environment (by going elsewhere).

All that complaining you think you hear from Men’s Rights Activists? Not really complaining. It’s just them wondering what they’ve been doing wrong. Apparently they’re talking in a strange sort of code. When they refer to “feminists” and “bitches” and “sluts” behaving horribly and deserving blame for everything, they are in fact referring to themselves.

I don't want to give MRAsmas advice. Rather, I want nothing whatsoever to do with them. I wouldn't even know of their sad little existence if they didn't whine so much on the interwebs. Remember that one nutty guy who used to go on Donahue? Thanks to the internet, we learn about scores of them, 95 in this particular case.

"They wouldn’t need laws mandating maternity leave and free birth control if they were the ones setting, and paying, employee benefits."

Men wouldn't need to complain about maternity leave if they started having babies. Get proactive guys. Why rely on women for that? (Please tell me no one is procreating with these cretins. That's a gene pool that should not be passed down.)

They wouldn’t need “no means no” if they were the ones making the sexual advances.

So we wouldn't need to worry about rape if we didn't think we had a right to decide who we want to have sex with? If only we made advances toward misogynist, self-pitying weasels, they wouldn't be forced to rape women. Poor things.

Then there is the obviously cognitive dissonance between that comment and the next one characterizing rapists as psychos. So which is it guys? Rape results from our failure to offer ourselves up for sex or from deviant psychos? I fear the truth lies in exactly that: they resent our refusal to offer ourselves up to psychos, meaning MRAsmas.

Seriously, who even wants to talk to these people? Talk about them, yes--because they have the potential to harm. Talk to them? No thank you. It'd be like arguing about Scientology with a true believer.

I just realized where this meme about "sex negative" feminism comes from. It's the same idea that gives rise to: "They wouldn’t need “no means no” if they were the ones making the sexual advances" They are pissed off because they don't get enough. They resent the fact that many women don't want to have sex with THEM, so they assume that means they are "sex negative." It's like the jerk that calls a woman a lesbian after he strikes out. Some feminists are indeed lesbians, and some are not. Yet few if any stomach sex with MRAsma types. Why on earth should we?

I'm pretty sure thoughtful people would rather they took the initiative to educate themselves or just GTOW already and leave women out of it entirely.

I love this part:

And again, for those critics who think I make a big deal of comments, well, this is a comment that MRAs and Manospherians are making a big deal of themselves.

It's cute how they whine about this guy mocking the whiners' comments, when it's their own community praise and post elsewhere as shining examples of... something.

submissive. this whole gender argument is often is reduced to irony.

men that do not speak out are cowardly, as far as i am concerned, against the stereotype they feed themselves with stoic, and quiet. they create all kinds of mess and problems from staying quiet.

I think it's cause men start wars, and then send other men to die in those wars, so... men find men disposable, so... this means feminists suck? For not stopping wars?

It's not exactly rational thought, so...

Yeah, it's a great site for when you need a laugh, though sometimes it can be seriously depressing / rage inducing too.

They're a bunch of nut jobs . There's a part of me that says that these ideas should be laughed at and pointed out because of their craziness, but there's another part saying that any attention given to their ideas is a waste of time.

It's like trying to refute Nazi talking points. Everybody already knows they're crazy.

Their ideas are more common than you think. Most just know better than to say them out loud when not around their own kind or at least protected by anonymity.

The 'men are disposable' bullshit is even posted here.

So yes, IMO this shit needs to be aired and mocked and pointed out as the idiocy it is.

Everybody already knows they're crazy..."

Until two or three months ago when I began visiting and reading the HoF group, I honestly didn't know that there are in fact, organizations throughout the US dedicated Men's Rights. I'd seen the MRA nomenclature, but never gave it any thought until it was spelled out for me on one or more threads here.

Yes, I know (and knew) that there are individual males who are, shall we say, intolerant of equal rights; but I had no idea the actual extent of it, that it was organized on a national scale, that many masquerade as front groups, and that we have our own little cabal of them on DU.

Not every knows that they're crazy... not yet. And if HoF has done nothing else, it's certainly opened my eyes to them, their tactics, their talking points, and their MO. It's also illustrated for me that even DU is not immune from these trout-brained, sub-literate, knuckle-dragging, half-educated, not-quite-fully-evolved individuals.
