(36,221 posts)You can post them here now. I've removed that rule, since meta has gone bye bye. We only needed the rule when we already had a place to discuss this stuff.

(36,221 posts)I forgot I got the jury results for my own hidden post LOL LOL Sorry!
At Fri Apr 5, 2013, 06:46 PM, an alert was sent on the following post:
Thread to discuss sexism and misogyny you encounter on DU.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/125519322
REASON FOR ALERT:
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. (See Community Standards.)
ALERTER'S COMMENTS:
A thread explicitly for the purpose of cataloging and calling out other DU members that this group disagrees with? This is exactly the kind of thing that makes DU suck. The admins got rid of meta for a good reason; shame some people want to recreate it.
JURY RESULTS
A randomly-selected Jury of DU members completed their review of this alert at Fri Apr 5, 2013, 06:53 PM, and voted 5-1 to HIDE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT and said: Looks to me like a fishing expedition.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT and said: Calling others out in a "secret" group is about as stupid an idea as i have ever heard on a suppsidly liberal site. Maybe poster should go start her own blog site. We could call it feminazi lite
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
CONSEQUENCES OF THIS DECISION

(41,976 posts)Somebody has been listening to Rush. Or doing Rush, for anybody who remembers what that is.
boston bean
(36,221 posts)I read that right here on DU. And therefore there is no reason to include sexism and misogyny in TOS.
This evidence here means NOTHING..
I don't even get a chance to edumicate this sexist. I don't know who it is. I don't get to speak back either.
That is really uncool!

(41,976 posts)To a vulnerable person? Never Happen. Oh, wait...
Part of the problem is this is a moderated site, and they have to hide, best as they can, and play dodge ball with words and snark and have groupie support.
But still, "feminazi"? HAS to be a troll.
boston bean
(36,221 posts)don't you see?!
Free speech rules, when using sexist and misogynistic language toward women on DU.
Everyone's opinion is equal is welcome when it comes to men telling women what they think.
DURHAM D
(32,609 posts)Seriously though... this group is having too much fun and the rest of DU has long faces.

(41,976 posts)Because of what they're not saying, and what they could or would be saying.
But not one of them is showing more restraint than I do. Trust me on this.
BTW, I was informed that our group doesn't care about 'important women's issues' I was laughing my ass off. But I showed restraint, because the smilie thing will never be enough for THAT level of dumbass and ego.

(102,225 posts)Somehow I doubt Skinner is going to be too receptive to a name change.... Yet, all feel pretty apropos.
As an aside, I know that the State Department makes US employees stationed under their auspices (in countries where a history of directed attacks have occurred) live in a home outfitted with a "safe room" or on a protected compound... Lately, the confines of HOF feels a bit like one of those fortified rooms-- a rare sanctuary for women to be able to come together to discuss freely... sigh

(102,225 posts)(over the past several weeks)... So, I guess this is the next step for that poster and/or their comrades.
I note that the gun control group is likewise being the recipient of abusive alerts on its posts by its detractors, so perhaps we can partner with them to make the case to Skinner if this continues.
Good to see you, though, DD and hope all is well with you. BTW, has anyone heard from yardwork or Obamanut2012 re: any plans to return?
