Declaration of the Social Movements Assembly

People all over the world are suffering the effects of the aggravation of a profound crisis of capitalism, in which its agents (banks, transnational corporations, media conglomerates, international institutions, and governments complicit with neoliberalism) aim at increasing their profits by applying interventionist and neocolonial policies.

War, military occupations, free-trade neoliberal treaties and “austerity measures” are expressed in economic packages that privatize the common good, and public services, cut wages and rights, increase unemployment, overload women´s care work and destroys nature.
snip---
They re-enforce conservatism and the control over women´s bodies and lives. In addition, they seek to impose”green economy” as a solution to the environmental and food crisis, which not only exacerbates the problem, but leads to commodification, privatization and financialization of life and nature.
snip---
Inspired by the history of our struggles and by the strength of people on the streets, the Social Movements Assembly call upon all people to mobilize and develop actions – coordinated at world level – in a global Day of mobilization on the XXXX (day to be decided)

operate successfully for years in individual countries, destroying economies, stealing resources, enslaving whole nations using their labor to enrich themselves as people sink further and further into poverty, destroying environments, with virtually no fear of any real, effective opposition. And when they have encountered it, killing those who dare to challenge them.

They were able to do this because who was going to oppose them? Each country did have resistance, but separately they were easily crushed, wages were easily kept below any standard of living.

Their biggest fear is that the people of the world will unite which is why we saw the Global coordinated efforts against OWS.

But now it is possible for people all over the world to join forces, to support each other and I hope it happens fast as time is running out for the environment and the people of the world.

but he ignored them and imposed his criminal policies anyhow. However, if that had been a Global Strike, none of the puppets in government would have been able to ignore it.

I agree completely, shut down the world for a day even, just to demonostrate the power the people actually have, if they choose to use it. No wonder they are so afraid of the people.

Once they learn that they are not in control, then we can start to negotiate. First on the agenda, a return to the Rule of Law, war criminals and economic criminals need to be prosecuted and the money they have stolen returned to the respective countries from which it was stolen. Redistributed back to the people.
