Republicans Who Signed Up For Obamacare This Year Are Pretty HappyRepublicans who signed up for Obamacare this year are liking their new insurance coverage, according to a new survey.
A poll of Obamacare enrollees published Thursday by the Commonwealth Fund found that 74 percent of newly insured Republicans are happy with the plans they bought. Overall, 77 percent of people who had insurance prior to the rollout of the Affordable Care Act said they are pleased with the new coverage they obtained in the last year.
The survey revealed the current uninsured rate among working-age adults in the U.S. has dropped to 15 percent, down from 20 percent in July-September 2013 -- meaning an estimated 9.5 million people have gained coverage since then.

Significant decline in uninsured rate across age groups since the end of 2013
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The uninsured rate in the U.S. fell 2.2 percentage points to 13.4% in the second quarter of 2014. This is the lowest quarterly average recorded since Gallup and Healthways began tracking the percentage of uninsured Americans in 2008. The previous low point was 14.4% in the third quarter of 2008.

(6,251 posts)I saw my first Mitch McConnell ad this evening, an ad whose main premise is that Kentucky should vote against Alison Grimes because she supports Obamacare. Silly Mitch, Kentucky has one of the best roll-outs of the ACA, with more than 400,000 folks signed up by mid-April.

(3,544 posts)Within the next 2 months, I will be experiencing my time with researching insurance. My wife is retiring and I am still unemployed, with not much hope for the future. I still have 2 years to go to retire. We will have no insurance when she retires. So now is the time for research. Any thoughts from anyone that has experienced this?
I'm hoping the ACA will save my ass.
