DAVID TAINTOR 11:14 AM EDT, TUESDAY APRIL 23, 2013
National Republican Senatorial Committee Executive Director Rob Collins released the following statement on news that Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) will not seek re-election in 2014:
Just days after calling ObamaCare a 'train wreck,' its architect Max Baucus waved the white flag rather than face voters. ObamaCare has gone from being an abstract discussion to a real life pain for workers and families, which has Democratic candidates like Bruce Braley, Mark Pryor, Mark Begich and Kay Hagan backpedaling. Vulnerable Democrats will face voters just as ObamaCare's tax hikes, mandates, fees, penalties, and red tape bureaucracy take shape over the next eight months, and Senator Baucus' retirement reflects that political reality. The 2014 electoral map is in freefall for Democrats, who were already facing a daunting challenge."

(24,403 posts)I'm waiting for the relief to come next year when we might possibly be able to enter the exchange and find a better value plan that what he have now (HDHP) but insurance companies are the ones raising premiums for workers and families (which they would be raising with or without Obamacare) and it's various employers whom are trying to give their employees the shaft while blaming it on Obamacare when it's not even evident that Obamacare is the real reason that employers are adjusting their employee's hours and with it their healthcare. Mostly, they're just cheap and greedy and Obamacare provides a useful scapegoat for it.

(32,886 posts)They say it is too difficult and that some time next year the President will approach Boehner, hat in hand, and request a delay.
I have no idea why they think that is the case, but they do.

(24,403 posts)Why exactly would President Obama be the one to approach Boehner about it? I would be surprised that President Obama would want to delay the implementation of his signature piece of legislation, particularly since implementation would almost completely innoculate it from further repeal efforts

(32,886 posts)I have no idea if this is true and actually very much doubt it. But that is what they are quietly talking about amongst themselves in GOP circles.

(24,403 posts)is one of their biggest fantasies........... I'm sure that implementation is not going to be without its difficulties though, of course, the Republicans have been making implementation as difficult as humanly possible in the states, mostly by refusing the Medicaid expansion and forcing the feds to set up more exchanges. In in an ironic sort of way though, many of these "states-rights" governors are setting themselves up for the feds having more control of this than they do.

(22,000 posts)for some time now. They had to switch over to a new computer system and it is suppose to making billing and reimbursement easier once this all kicks in. I don't understand the exact details, but I do know that the hospitals have to be ready by a certain time when most of the provisions of the health care law go into effect.
