(17,742 posts)Eventually, when entertainment is 100% delivered via Internet, this will be a reality because there will be all kinds of apps like that.
I want one where I can choose to omit certain scenes from films.

I love watching Boston Bruin games but Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley drive me nuts.

(17,175 posts)A lot of years ago, one of the networks made an "experiment" by broadcasting a (US) football game without any commentary, using text to tell down and distance. They claimed the fans didn't like it that way. I know I did. It gets so tiresome hearing has-been athletes commenting on the games, I've basically stopped watching sports altogether. I long ago OD'd on "He plays his position as well as anybody" and "great players make great plays."
Not to mention my favorite, when a player gets hurt: "We shouldn't speculate, but I think his back is broken in three places."

(222 posts)My family and I used to watch live Blazer games with the sound muted and listen to the radio announcer (Bill Schonely) because we couldn't stand the tv commentary. Now I've gotten pretty good at ignoring Mike and Mike on the TV, who are 2 of the worst commentators in the world, and just watch the action.
