(82,383 posts)That was a good speech. Send different people to Washington. 90% of the people want something and it should pass. I also liked his mentioning the abuse of the filibuster.

(13 posts)He said in essence if you want change you are going to have to pay cash for it in other words money talks in Government.
We got to buy a majority in the Senate otherwise those who do have the cash get what THEY want.
Powerful speech, perhaps
at least it was truthful.

(2,730 posts)opinion than you. Even though a few Democrats in Red States voted against this Bill, the whole problem is the Republican Congress. It is the people in their Districts keep sending these people to Congress and empowering them to legislate. Many of them are obstructionists and far to the Right. And it is not just this issue. President Obama needs to realize this is a War with these people and you can't trust them on any issue. When the American people realize the Left is not the problem in this country, the better things will be. It is the same on the Big three, Wars and voting rights. These people are united and have a far right wing agenda. It is just one more example, the Republican party has become too dangerous for this country, not Democrats. The Republicans in Texas want people to think it is the Democratic Party, but it is the opposite. I have recently come to that decision ever since the War in Iraq. Their atrocities are accumulating as long as those people are given power to makes laws for the rest of us. It does not take money to come to the Truth. Vote them out just like they did to Democrats in 2010. As long as people keep voting them back to Congress, this country will continue to deteriorate.

(13 posts)Yes the war has been raging since the 1940s and we the people will not win unless we either buy the Congress, which we the people cannot afford or we the people hit the reset button and start all over again. All other options are losing choices and a waste of time. As far as PBO he is not an ally nor can he be counted on to protect the people, he has proven time and time again he will protect the 1% at all costs before the people.

(9,664 posts)Sure it's a great statement. Do something about it!
It is said that the president of the USA is the most powerful person in the world.
Prove it!
Just don't be a woosy. Tell them what to do.
Prove it.
Look at Joe Biden. See the emotion?
Prove your words.
That is all we ask.
