2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI've finally figured out where I've heard all the screaming about Obama before
"Obamacare is gonna have DEATH PANELS!"
"Obama is taking our guns!"
"Obama will force you to marry a gay!"
come on people, let's be somewhat grown up, please?

(5,599 posts)this is an all out campaign against the President. It is tiresome and disgusting to watch.
.. and last I looked, wasn't that behavior against the Community TOS?

(8,339 posts)But the jury system has changed all that.

(11,417 posts)I have twice that amount to his 2012 campaign. I resently joined O f A and gave to that campaign.
He said he would not cut Social Security benefits.
He put Social Securiy cuts on his budget.
I expect him to keep his word. I mad that he hasn't.
You have nothing to say to me or anyone else about how we respond to the Predident.
This is America not some dictatorship.
We do not march in
Lock step. Another President said it is a sin to rain quite when you should protest. That was Abraham Lincoln.

(296,795 posts)Using raging vicious bully talk when insulting an "80 year old" woman because she dared say she wasn't worried about the President's budget plan?
Many have always had trash talk about this President.. now they feel they can sharpen their pitchforks and use every dirty word they can think of to insult him.
Pres Obama respects people when talking to them.. his enemies lose their shit.

Just the facts, and I never said any person, you did.

(28,394 posts)I did not mention a person. You, however, said, "come on people, let's be somewhat grown up, please?"
Were you addressing "people" who do not read and post on DU?
And BTW, what facts are you referring to? I did not see any in your OP.

(23,720 posts)but he has no power other than influence to make it happen. He can't vote on the bill and he can't sign the bill unless congress acts.

I don't think so.

(10,820 posts)I am always mildly amused at OP's that posture as some grand enlightenment or brilliant insight when, in fact, they are indecipherable and incoherent.
Seriously, what the hell are you saying here? Please be a bit more specific.
Cheers!

(28,394 posts)Many DUers are upset about Obama's proposal on Chained CPI. So are some "true" democratic senators (Sanders, Warren, and Brown among them) and more progressive advocacy groups. (Yeah, yeah, I know Sanders is an Ind.)
Please educate yourself on this issue and you will see why it is a threat to the security and well-being of SS recipients (and other groups as well.)
It is highly insulting to be compared to the wing-nut morans who ranted about death panels, guns and gays. You really do not understand the issue.
Rosco T.
(6,496 posts).. it's the DELIVERY I'm comparing, not the content...
and my point continues to be proven.

I have read many posts on the subject and have not seen any that compare to yours. Please enlighten me if I am incorrect.

(21,738 posts)This is a forum to post our thoughts on national policy from a basically Democratic point of view. If hordes of people are upset with the President's policy on a Democratic issue like Social Security, they have not only a right to express it.. but a duty to the rest of the community to express it.

Obama is gonna protect war criminals!
Obama is gonna protect telecoms!
Obama is gonna protect banks!
is that yours are false.
Thanks for sorting out the deliberate apples/oranges conflation of the misleading OP.

I for one am tired of the "grown ups" pretending that moving ever further right is going todo anything good.
It won't.
"Centrists" stand for nothing, they are useful idiots providing political cover for the RW.

(24,096 posts)that thing still runs. Heard it just the other day on useless MSNBC, and the host didn't correct the rw asshole that said that. Well, anyone who still says that is an asshole.

(22,772 posts)was invented out of whole cloth by right wingers. People (like me) are concerned that this is setting a dangerous precedent for the further erosion of our New Deal safely net. Calls for "acting like grownups" while dismissing and mocking people's concerns isn't very grown up.
