Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Friday that unless nominations start moving swiftly through the Senate, another round of dramatic rules changes may be in the offing.
All within the sound of my voice, including my Democratic senators and the Republican senators who I serve with, should understand that we as a body have the power on any given day to change the rules with a simple majority, and I will do that if necessary, Reid said on Nevada Public Radio.
Personally I sure hope Reid does this. One of the most disgusting things about the Senate Repugs is how they keep blocking the President's appointments for political reasons, no matter how qualified the nominee is.

(586 posts)At least Reid is saying that the rules allow him to do this. I think he might be waiting to see what happens with the big upcoming budget and debt limit fights before doing anything.
Note: Some people here apparently don't understand the realities of the political situations in this country, and as a result, they blame the wrong party for the problems. It's the Repugs that are causing the problems, not the democrats

Well done, Harry.
Well. Fucking. Done.
