Is "Conservatism" Finally Dead?

I know a lot of people get upset by my definition of "conservatism" (actually fascism) and conservatism (careful, respect for tradition, not radical, based on sound reasoning and prudent decisions, ....).

But frankly I don't care. Call it whatever you want. I call them "conservatives" with quotes because they are not conservative in any way.

So the question here is whether this iteration is done, killed by their radicals and their own stupidity?

I think they're done. They've managed to hang on a little, but hey if we turn out they lose. And I think we're motivated to turn out. Their gig is over.

Am I right?

the Moron Corridor of rural states that goes from Texas to the Dakotas, and the heavily Mormon states. Elsewhere, stick a fork in 'em, they're done. They've also lost the cities even in the areas that will continue to elect some of them in ridiculously gerrymandered districts.

There are always diehard true believers for any discredited philosophy. Consider how many idiots in this country still think the sun goes around the earth, which is only 6000 years old.

With their sleezy gerrymandering, endless filibusters and voter obstruction, they have managed to stay in control of the country.

Add the cowardice of the democrats (including the president) to the equation, and we're pretty much fucked.

Watch as Obama supports the Keystone Pipeline project, and tells us how great it will be.

I've about given up.

A little known fact from history was the attempt by a group of rich Republicans to over throw FDR back in the 30's and install a fascist like form of government there big mistake was the general they when to did not care for what they want to do and turn them in. FDR big mistake was he let them go mostly because we where looking WW2 in the face and he felt it was a bad idea to execute these traitors, many of who's family are today right-wing nut jobs source of funding . He should have execute them !

I did not think they were "dead" but that demographics would over time make it hard for them after 06 and 08.

Then 2010 came and for not reason at all, none, this country both turned over most of the states to their control just in time for the census AND had one of the biggest swings to them in congress in our lives.

No reason for it at all, other than them throwing a snit over losing the Presidential election.

And, even with a D president and D majority in the senate, they have absolutely driven both the public discussion, which they always do, but also Washington DC.

They are meaner and nastier than Ds ever will be by a large margin and the national media kisses their asses at every turn.

It has to be tragically bad for them for Ds to get anything done, and they WILL make hay on any major negative event - 9-11, which was the only reason Bush I saw a second term, and the economic downturn now.

Take a look at any of the BS pieces of legislation being put up in any of a number of states.
I think it is our side who is close to finally dead. The Christofascists have just about won & American voters have no idea yet what they've done to themselves.

1932, 1948, 1964...

Their radicals hijack the party, get their asses handed to them, and then moderates take over again. Some projections have them losing Texas, and then what?

It's not ridiculous. Their demographic is dying off and they continue to lose ground in every demographic that's growing, which is what one would expect given that they hate everyone except the oligarchy.

What's ridiculous is that they themselves can't figure out something so obvious.

Frank Luntz is alive and well and living in luxury.

I am conservative, but I sure as hell am not "a conservative," at least not as it is used in Foxese.
