Instead Joe focuses on the internals of their poll showing Republicans do not support stricter gun control laws vs. the 60% of Americans who do favor stricter gun control laws. Scarborough says this will kill gun control efforts in Congress. The fact that Americans favor jobs over deficit reduction does not meet the current beltway consensus opinion regarding the dangers of the deficit and debt. Pete Peterson's 'Fix the Debt' has obviously succeeded with the likes of Joe Scarborough.
Turning to the economy and the deficit, the Morning Joe/Marist survey shows that Americans by nearly a 2-to-1 margin want President Barack Obama and Congress to make job creation their top priority (64 percent) instead of deficit reduction (33 percent).
Those who prefer Washingtons political leaders to emphasize job creation include 76 percent of Democrats and 46 percent of Republicans; a narrow majority of Republican respondents (51 percent) want the focus to be on deficit reduction.

(63,903 posts)enough, in his next breath he was denouncing both Paul and Nancy Pelosi! He needs to give it a rest. His envy of Dr. Krugman is getting pretty embarrassing, espcially since Joe has no idea what economists actually do for a living.

(5,842 posts)Watching Joe come close to fellatiating Sandford over his "comeback" was the final nail in the coffin for today's show as far as I was concerned.
Is there any other show that seems to improve to the extent Morning Joe does when the primary hosts aren't on the air?
