1. I have colleagues who pay more than I do in taxes because marriage equality has not won yet

I have friends who have to worry lest one of them has his immigration status revoked, because marriage equality has not won yet.

Now, I know that Time is making a different point, but still. Until marriage equality is the law of the land in all 50 states, "gay marriage" has not "already won."

Real people, real issues.

2. My intent here was to highlight the growing movement to equality. A Time cover is good.

Does it equate to legalization nation wide?

No, it's a Time magazine cover, one of 52 a year. And a very positive presentation of equality at that.

I'm sorry your friends have immigration shit going on. It's wrong, unfair and discriminatory.

3. We haven't won yet, but we do have a lot of momentum

Time has a huge readership, and millions will see the cover and read the article.

Here's to hoping the SCOTUS does the right thing and issues a sweeping ruling in favor of marriage equality.

Legalize it, make them have all the benefits that hetero marriages have, and call it a day.
