In the past few days, Ive posted on DU:GD about the murder trial of the thug who shot my cousin and his son in upstate New York in an October, 2014 road rage incident. It will be mighty nice to attend the Sanderss rally with my cousin on Monday, and to then report on it here on DU:GDP.
Peace,

(73,333 posts)That sounds exciting. I look forward to reading more about it on Monday.
Even if it ends up just me talking to myself, I will be posting here that night.

(23,156 posts)Now, what I want to know is if Hillary will be bothered to go to Binghamton.
I suspect she'll do a smattering of events in the NYC area, nothing north of Westchester County with the possible exception of something in Albany, given how the Governor is so keen on her. There will of course be high dollar fundraisers in the upscale parts of NYC and probably one or two in the Hamptons. Other than that?

(73,333 posts)there is a lot of support in upstate New York for Bernie. I do not believe that any of the polls I've seen accurately reflect this. There are people who do not usually vote, because they view the system as so corrupt, who plan on voting for Sanders.
Clinton did do very well in NYS, especially in her re-election to the Senate. But a lot has changed since then.
I'm not certain if you are joking about Cuomo? While he's unlikely to be a Sanders's supporter, he does not like Bill or Hillary Clinton. As a politician, he smiles when he is around them. But I know from his (former) brother-in-law that Andrew had a committee preparing for him to run in 2016, so long as Clinton wasn't in the mix. He believes she is a flawed presidential candidate, with "negatives" that would make it difficult for her to win a national election. If not for Hillary, Andrew would not only have entered the Democratic Party's primaries, but might very well be the leading candidate. (I do not like him as a person, and that dislike influences my opinion of him as a politician.)

(23,156 posts)was a Hillary supporter. Thank you for correcting me on that.
He's a super delegate, yes? Do you know if he's indicated who he might support?
Added on edit: He's endorsed her.

(73,333 posts)I don't know him personally, but I remember him from back when Mario was governor. I had a lot of respect for Mario Cuomo, and got along with him very well the times I met him or communicated on the phone or through the mail. I knew his personal attorney better, from my work on burial protection and repatriation with the Onondaga Nation.
Andrew always struck me as ambitious -- and I do not intend that as a compliment. When he was first running for governor, I was invited to a private dinner meeting with him and seven others. I passed on the invitation.
He is, to a large degree an establishment/ machine politician. Yet, I was pleased that, despite very real pressure from the Obama White House, he refused to okay hydro-fracking in our state. That's one of several important environmental issues that I've worked on with Robert, Jr. (Andrew pressured Robert to be on his fracking advisory committee.)
So, I wouldn't be surprised if he "supports" Hillary. But, from what I've been told, it is largely because he believes she will lose, thus creating an opening for him in 2020. Very ambitious.

(23,156 posts)If that's actually true, I'd say I couldn't possibly trust him farther than I can spit. That is NOT a man who will do what's best for anyone besides himself.

(73,333 posts)Bernie will be speaking at the Arena, which is where I had my last boxing match many years ago. It was on the under-card of a good professional heavyweight fight. The guy I fought was a "golden boy," a popular, undefeated young man who I disliked. He was no longer undefeated when he left the ring, I should add!
