The Direct Instructions of Shri Singha to Padmasambhava (The Treasure of the Lotus Crystal Cave)

These profound meditation instructions were taught to Padmasambhava by his guru, Shri Singha. This chapter titled, "The Treasure of the Lotus Crystal Cave", first appeared in Crystal Cave: A compendium of teachings by masters of the practice lineage. Translated by Erik Pema Kunsang and edited by Ward Brisick. Rangjung Yeshe Publications, 1990. It is also found in the text, Treasures from Juniper Ridge.

According to Erik Pema Kunsang, the original Tibetan text was found in a collection at the Royal Danish Library in 1976 by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.

Tripiṭaka (Three Baskets)

Tripiṭaka (Sanskrit: [trɪˈpɪʈɐkɐ]) or Tipiṭaka (Pali: [tɪˈpɪʈɐkɐ]) is the traditional term for the Buddhist scriptures. The version canonical to Theravada Buddhism is generally referred to in English as the Pali Canon. Mahayana Buddhism also holds the Tripiṭaka to be authoritative but, unlike Theravadins, it also includes in its canon various derivative literature and commentaries that were composed much later.

Abhidharma

Abhidharma (Skt.; Pal. Abhidhamma; Tib. ཆོས་མངོན་པ་, མངོན་པ་, chö ngönpa, ngönpa", Wyl. chos mngon pa, mngon pa) — the third of the three pitakas, or collections (literally ‘baskets’), into which the Buddhist teachings are divided. This pitaka, which is associated with the training in wisdom (Skt. prajñā , defines many of the topics mentioned in the sutras, and arranges them in classifications, such as the five skandhas, twelve ayatanas and eighteen dhatus, thereby providing tools for generating a precise understanding of all experience.

Secret Mantra

Secret mantra (Tib. གསང་སྔགས་, sang ngak, Wyl. gsang sngags) or Secret Mantra Vajrayana (Tib. གསང་སྔགས་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཐེག་པ་, sang ngak dorje tekpa, Wyl. gsang sngags rdo rje theg pa) — another name for the Vajrayana.
