as the Episcopal Church is the Anglican church in the United States, although some conservative churches are attempting to split off from us and rename themselves Anglican in the process.

The rector of the church I am leaving (and this is not the reason) loves lectio divina, and uses it as the main form of contemplation on retreats. I've worked in a number of meditation techniques, and this one doesn't work for me at all, unless it is an unusually provocative passage.

This is a good explanation.

Yes a member of the Anglican Communion obviously. Why I put "I am Anglican, btw" I don't know. Anyway, thanks. My experience with meditation is limited to an now neglected Ashtanga yoga practice, if that counts. And yeah, I would think the scripture would make the difference. There is apparently also a Visio Divina I which one focuses on an image.

Thanks.
