Saudi Arabia opens luxury ‘religious extremist’ rehab center for Al-Qaeda militants

By Agence France-Presse
Friday, April 19, 2013 7:23 EDT

Saudi Arabia is hoping to wean jailed Al-Qaeda militants off religious extremism with counselling, spa treatments and plenty of exercise at a luxury rehabilitation centre in Riyadh.

In between sessions with counsellors and talks on religion, prisoners will be able to relax in the centre’s facilities which include an Olympic-size indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a gym and a television hall.

The new complex is the work of the Prince Mohammed bin Nayef Centre for Counselling and Care, a body set up seven years ago to rehabilitate extremists jailed during a Saudi crackdown on the local branch of Al-Qaeda.

“Just under 3,000 (Islamist prisoners) will have to go through one of these centres before they can be released,” interior ministry spokesman General Mansur al-Turki told AFP during a tour of the new centre.

Now if we could get them to open one for "Christians" like Tony Perkins, Franklin Graham, Pat Robertson, Bill Donahue, and all the members of the WBC!

All those people have more money than God anyway, which is prima facie evidence for either a malevolent God or none at all.

my daughter actually said this to me when she was about 10 years old and was required to report on current events for a school project . . . "Mother, it's so hot over there . . . maybe if we gave them air conditioning, they wouldn't be so mean."

She may have been on to something . . . It took all my energy not to laugh out loud since she was so earnest!
