What do you pray for?

I pray for strength to get through things in this life. I pray for the forgiveness of my sins and offenses. I pray for the repose of the souls of the dead. I pray for those who are sick that they have the strength to get though their sickness and for healing. I praise the almighty in my prayers. I pray for the dying and those around them.

In general I pray for the ability to get through things. When something big comes up my first reaction is not to pray but to just deal with things. I let my actions be a prayer unto God. When I have time I will say a prayer to get me and others through something. Forgiveness, strength, and raise is the main three for me, what about you?
I am interested in what things you pray for.

for good outcomes, but I definitely do not pray.
If I am involved I plan, set a course of action and try to follow it with corrections as we go.

in the middle of a pentagram with certain colored candles to do good or evil or exactly the same as sticking a pin in a voodoo doll. Praying is just an old superstition that makes some people that believe it feel better sometimes but otherwise is pretty pointless.

Worse, it appears to have a marginally negative effect on test subjects who know they are being prayed for.

but tonight I am making an exception and I am going to pray for the replacement of the 46 United States Senators who illustrated today that they have no heart.

..and super powers. flight in particular although telekinesis might work for that in a pinch if i honed my telekinetic powers to a razor sharp point under the esteemed tutelage of a bald guy and a grumpy whiskered fella with adamantium claws.

I pray for my children individually, for my beloved deceased, including spouse, brother & sister, parents, grandparents, and other relatives, for my friends that are ill, the mentally ill, and caregivers.

I ask the Holy Spirit to send to me and my children the gifts of the Holy Spirit- wisdom, knowledge, understanding, counsel, courage, piety & fear of the Lord.

I thank God for the many gifts I have been given, including length of life and relatively good health, a sound mind, attentive family, the beautiful world including mountains and seas, and kind people.

I ask the intercession of Mary to guide my in my days.
When driving I pray for a calm attitude.

I gave up a long time ago asking for things, money, good weather, and all that dumb stuff that doesn't matter. Mostly I pray for help being a better Christian.

I overheard one of my sons praying the other night. It was this really informal conversation he had going on that was just fascinating. He didn't ask for anything. All he was doing was going over all the really great things he's found and learned and sharing his excitement about it all. If I were God I'd be terribly pleased that someone just called to say "thanks" and wasn't worried about a thing. I want to be able to pray like that.

I hope, I think about people who are having troubled, I try to help them when I can, or lend a sympathetic ear or shoulder. I spread the word when appropriate. I mourn those who have died.
