a few months back with a 3-game suspension, a fine, and an order to attend anger management classes.

Hardly the acts of someone who is trying to cover up abuse.

the assistant coaches and the players, neither of whom were in position to complain about Rice.

Let's also remember that Rutgers is a state university, meaning that the salaries of the president, AD, and coaches come from the NJ government and taxpayers, including Governor Christie. If Christie ain't happy about this situation, more heads may roll. This story isn't over by a long shot.

he should have brought the video straight to the college president and recommended that Rice be fired immediately. By launching an internal investigation while deliberately keeping the president out of the loop and slapping Rice on the wrist, he was doubly derelict in his duty -- especially since the school would not have had to shell out a $100k bonus (of NJ taxpayer money!) if Rice had been fired before the end of the season.

I don't like to see anybody lose a job. But if anybody ever deserved to be fired, he's the one.
