.....with "Welfare Reform" which resulted in greater poverty for poor families, with "Prison Reform" which disproportionately impacted black families, with her reluctance to speak up for years for marriage equality, which at bottom, is a civil rights issue, with their media consolidation, which strengthened FOX, that racist parasite on the country, and finally, the repeal of Glass-Stegal financial protections, which many believe set the table for financial crisis that came later hurting every working and middle class family.

I voted for her but I still struggle.

While Hillary often spoke out in support of her husband, these things can't be put on her shoulders. They're his. Yet many in the black community still called him "the first black president."

...for him and his policies on the road which helped them pass. She stood by his side, smiling broadly when he spoke about them. They liked being seen as a unit and so I take/took them as one.

In her apology for some of these things, years later, when she was a candidate, she spoke of them as though she had ownership. So, I think they were her policies as well.

...since then many of them talk very negatively about the two issues: Welfare reform and Prison reform. It took a while for the effects to be felt and understood.

Also the African American vote declined 60% (!!!) in 2016. The lowest it had been in 20 years.

Clearly, there was great ambivalence.
