to listen to on DU will no longer be tolerated. Things are going to

So I'm thinking we should have a conversation about the level of privilege you have in society where you feel entitled to stalk someone and then instruct them about what they can and cannot discuss publicly

She came to visit me in Northern Virginia in the mid-80s. On a visit to the White House, sitting on a bench in the Ellipse, she commented on how many "n******" there were around. There was a black squirrel we were feeding. Unusual, but there it was. Eating the popcorpn we tossed to it. She said, "See, even the squirrels are n*****". I grew some balls that day and told her to STFU. I said she was what was wrong with this world. She never spoke to me again. And I am glad. She died 18 months ago. She didn't speak to any of her four children. She committed suicide at the age of 83. I alone went home to bury her. Because I felt that in death, she might gain some knowledge. I hope that wherever she is now, she has a better understanding.

I am so glad that her disgraceful stance on race didn't affect me nor my own children.
