1. We have descended into click bait hell.

The media want to spin the controversy to get more from advertisers. It's why Trump exists. He is so good for their ratings.

It is true for online forums too. Try making a thoughtful, reasoned post about a complex topic in one of the big forums and watch it sink. But make a short, simple, decisive comment and watch the recs and comments pile up, even if it is silly, hateful and generally disingenuous. But it gets attention and whips up the emotions. It is an easy fix, the attention is fun, so people go with that.

I liked both Obama and Clinton in 2008. I would have liked Obama a bunch less if he went after Clinton the way Sanders and his peeps do. I liked Clinton a bunch less when she went after Obama the way that she did. It seems to be a symptom of losing.
