US prepares 130m military aid package for Syrian rebels

Associated Press in Istanbul
guardian.co.uk, Saturday 20 April 2013 17.57 BST

The US readied a package Saturday of up to $130m in non-lethal military aid to Syrian opposition forces while European countries consider easing an arms embargo, moves that could further pressure the government of President Bashar al-Assad.

US secretary of state John Kerry was expected to announce the plans about the defensive military supplies at a meeting Saturday that was bringing together the Syrian opposition leadership and their main international allies.

The supplies possibly could include body armor, armored vehicles, night vision goggles and advanced communications equipment.

US officials said the details and costs were to be determined at the meeting. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss Kerry's announcement.

Most of the people eligible to vote. Do not care about this issue.
Because if they did, congress would not be relected at 91%.

How Was 91 Percent of Congress Re-Elected Despite a 10 Percent Approval Rating?

$130 million dollars to over throw a government, we have no business being involved in.

In Korea, we involved our selves, we lost lives and killed innocents.
In Vietnam we involved our selves, we lost lives and killed innocents.

We learned nothing as a country.

People don't care, they worry who Kim Kardashian is dating, or who is getting a DUI.

But fighting a war, never ever is questioned.

How can we prepare for our children's future by over spending and fighting needless wars.

We have money for a defense budget that is largest then the rest of the world combined.
But heaven forbid we want to get another science teacher or math teacher paid.
