Man shoots himself in the head during NASCAR race sponsored by the National Rifle Association (NRA)

(CNN) -- A man shot himself to death during the NRA 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway over the weekend, authorities said.

The 42-year-old from Saginaw, Texas, was at the infield campground during the NASCAR event when he committed suicide Saturday night, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office.

His body was found in the back seat of a truck, the Fort Worth Police Department said in a statement.

How is that possible? All gun owners support slaughter, right?

at the Goodys Fast Relief 500, too.

And someone gets low blood sugar at the Coca-Cola 500.

And someone has chest pains at the Bojangles Southern 500.

You'd have a point, if you had a point.

must be feeling a great deal of pain and sorrow; I hope it's not exacerbated for them by reading anonymous comments on news articles and across the internet, from people cackling over the event as a plaything in a political argument...

Is it "embarrassing" to NASCAR if a driver dies in a crash not the track's fault, or is it simply a tragedy?

Some of you grab nuts are so anxious to turn any horrific event into some kind of Gotcha Moment that the only people you embarrass are yourselves.

I do agree that NASCAR is a pretty horrific event, but shooting oneself over it, well...
