Recommendations? Have a good canister but heavy and have two floors of hardwood.
It's simply amazing how much Tony sheds. It will literally be everywhere every day.
Want a good stick...but one that doesn't require reaching down and removing hair trapped in a comb or brush attachment.

(115,280 posts)Those things get at the loose undercoat fur. I could build another whole cat with the fur I get every time I use it.

(23,242 posts)It works wonders for dogs and cats. That said, I finally gave in and have my lab and border collie groomed once a month. Best investment I could make and it has cut the shed hair down in my house to a minimum.
I bought an Electrolux rechargeable stick vacuum at Costco. Works great. The canister is small and has to be emptied each time I use it but it does a good job. I havent had to remove hair from the brush on the power head. It is light enough to pick up and lay on the counter, pop the canister off and empty in the garbage. It sits on a charger base in the pantry. I really like it.

(6,747 posts)Great Pyrenees groomed once a month. Makes a big difference. I also brush them a couple of times a week, but it is their spa day that makes a difference. My two cats are also groomed once a month.

(9,963 posts)most of them will have a natural fix to shedding dogs. A friend has a black lab that shed a lot and now the only time he sheds is twice a year when he is shedding his coat.

(42,770 posts)really work. Sounds like a combo, maybe supplements plus grooming plus good vacuum might at least help.

(8,049 posts)for beds, couches, car seats, stairs, etc. Have had it a few years now and I bring it with me in our motorhome too--good in addition to whatever vacuum you end up getting for dog hair (I have 3 cats and 2 dogs).

(8,480 posts)The box calls it a multi flex duo clean, lightweight stick. I like it pretty well, about as much as my big vac, which is a Rainbow. I have a German Shepherd and a Rat Terrier/Jack Russell mix in the house, so a lot of two different types of dog hair. Ugh. I said no more shedders in the house, but here we are, lol.

(42,770 posts)hardly shed at all. This one is a golden/lab mix. You can't just get them shaved.
I would think he'd be bald by now. New Hair must grow a 1/2 inch a day.
Will look at that Shark. Been looking at dyson sticks. One is 5.93. Lbs! Supposedly a vet's office does their whole place in 30 min ever day.

(7,990 posts)It's lightweight and simply plugs in to charge rather than having a clunky thing that hangs on your wall, then it unplugs to use. It holds a charge well and does a good job. I've had it several years and still love it. It looks like the newest model is called Rowenta Air Force Extreme Silence.

(42,770 posts)charging station. Trouble is no matter which I end up choosing, none of my closets have power.

(7,990 posts)but I put it in my guest room. Eventually, we did some remodeling and I put power in the closet then.

(8,353 posts)I also looked at their site. Where did you buy it? Thank you!

(7,990 posts)but I see they don't have it now. Williams Sonoma had it at the time as well, but they don't have it either. The only place I could find it was ebay, and it was at least $100 more than I paid for mine, but that was about 6 years ago so the price may be about right these days.
