The Monmouth County SPCA is asking for the public's help to find the person responsible for setting a dog on fire.

Eatontown firefighters responded to a report of smoke and a possible fire Tuesday evening and found a dog's body burning in a wooded area behind the Country Club Apartments off Tinton Falls Avenue.

Chief Humane Law Enforcement Officer Victor Amato says the remains of the dog, which is believed to be a beagle, were taken to Red Bank Animal Hospital.

A necropsy will be performed in order to determine a cause of death.

I'm sure he wagged his precious tail at the repulsive monster that tortured him to death.

I hate, and I do mean HATE people who do horrible things to animals. I reach a point of rage and despair over stories like this. We need real punishment for people who do things like this. Personally, I wouldn't mind life in prison for them.
