What's for Dinner, Sun., May 17, 2020

Chicken pot pie made with the leeks I grow in my garden. I so wanted to take a pic of them in the raised bed in which I grew them, but the RG pulled them before I could get that done. There are many left, but he pulled the really big ones. Here, however, is after he cut and washed them.

In addition, the pie had carrots, celery, onion, and potatoes. The predominant ingredient, however, was leeks.

The chicken and all the vegetables were boiled together with chicken stock and milk. After cooling, it was strained and used in baking the pie, which had a flaky crust.

For a salad, red slaw.

Dessert: no-sugar apple pie. Ginger tea.

That is it. It has so much in it. Meat, tomatoes, beans, onions, corn, jalapenos, cheese, green and red peppers.

Used my own taco seasoning blend, it is so easy to make and tastes great.

It is yummy and fills you up.

And a little iceberg wedge salad. I had to take pictures for a client (Herkyjerky) so I just made a big platter of two of the salad to shoot earlier in the day.
