What's for Dinner, Sat., May 9, 2020

Korean BBQ steaks. The sauce has soy, onion, garlic, ginger, tomato sauce, yellow peppers, onion, Thai fish sauce and sesame oil.

Radish salad. Has pea shoots and a few chopped vegetables in it.

Fruit for dessert. Oranges and maybe a little chocolate.

found on Smitten Kitchen, roast cauliflower with peppers, farro and cheese with a parmesan bread crumb top. Fresh strawberry cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert. Right now on our deck sipping red wine, reading my wife The Once and Future King. A very good day.

Korma curry chicken (store bought sauce) with homegrown cherry tomatoes, broccoli and peppers (frozen).

Rice from SIL's cast off cooker.

More hot buttered rum.

It's cold out - and I went cross country skiing on the lawn today.

The recipe called for mung bean sprouts, which I don't care for, so I substituted shredded napa cabbage. That was good but I might have softened it in the hot broth a little first.

Dessert is some chocolates from a local shop

Lamb and spinach curry.

Lamb is cut off several chops, cubed fairly small, floured and browned in butter.

Onions , garlic, ginger, one chopped serrano pepper sauted in butter, spiced with coriander, cardomom, paprika, cumin, turmeric, cloves, cinnamon, one chopped serrano pepper, salt and pepper. Tin of diced tomatos and some tomato paste, water, vegetable boullion cube added. Bones with meat on go into this. After about fifteen minutes boil, and the browned lamb added.

After about an hour, add lot of spinach, frozen or fresh doesn't really matter, along with some garam masala, and after a bit more, add some plain yogurt.

Ladle onto a pile of basmati rice.

It usually comes out alright. I've done it often enough to do it from memory by now. The womenfolk like it.
