What's for Dinner ~ Saturday April 27th - Doc Visit Results Edition

Last edited Sat Apr 27, 2013, 12:46 AM - Edit history (1)

Sooooo... for those interested...the second all nighter at the hospital finally produced usable Sleep Study results!

I will be joining the Borg soon - probably Monday some time. I tested a sleep apnea mask during the last overnighter that is very low profile and just hooks around the ears (with optional headgear strap thingy - which I don't need). And it was very comfy. I was told that I was having ONE apnea episode per MINUTE during one stretch of REM sleep. I'm really looking forward to seeing how much my health improves once I get better sleep and improve my blood oxygen levels (which were really crappy). So, finally some good news. I am crazy tired of being tired all the time.

As for dinner, I have put off Mexican food for the last two nights, so it's definitely on the Saturday menu!

You?

I've had a really bad flare up of arthritis. I had to miss the performance of "Sparrow" a theatrical monologue on the OKC bombing which was being performed for the first time IN Oklahoma this year. It was included in this year's Native American New Play Festival in Oklahoma City and produced at the old Civic Center, just two blocks from the Empty Chairs memorial and it was performed the day before and after the anniversary and on the anniversary of the bombing itself. The arthritis flare up covered feet, knees, hands, wrists, elbows. I couldn't make it through two 7-1/2 hour flights and a 4 hour r/t car trip all squeeze into four days. I still can't unsnap my wallet! So, I didn't get to go. I'm not up to cooking tonight. We adopted (emergency adoption) two kittens evening before last and I've sort of pushed myself physically until I'm hurting again. I'll be fine, but I couldn't close my hand around a knife handle right now if my life depended upon it. Well, maybe I could with a good shot of adrenalin.

I bet it was amazing. Is there going to be a video you can see? Hope so...

I'm sorry to hear that you have been having pain. It can be soo frustrating when you have things that you really want to do, but just can't. Everywhere I look in my house I see things that need my attention. The last week or so has been pretty awful for me too. Our weather has been fluctuating and we roll from clear to rainy days. I think that is partly to blame for my ouchies. I just can't get comfortable. I hope that everything eases off for you soon! ?

The OKC Theatre Co. is an Equity shop and that whole "no photos or recording devices" is announced before every show. I improved after the weather system pushed through. A Benadryl also seemed to help during the last tough phase but the one I took today is not making much difference at all. If we are going to start living longer because of medical intervention, I wish they'd go that extra step and help us age a little slower so it won't hurt so much as we go.

one of my favorite weird memories from college is going to a fish house with two of my friends and watching them devour crab legs. It was like watching guppies turn into piranhas before my eyes. Messy stuff!

A good nights sleep is essential - to everyone!

I've been doing "stuff" around the house meanwhile roasting a bunch of vegetables.

Then I decided to make some homemade pea soup.

Needless to say, I've got enough food for the rest of the week!

I bake 'em, then I cool them and slide them out of their jackets.

Mash them and put them in a little olive oil and get them crisp on the outside.

However, there are variations: parmesan-herb-nut crust, for example.

This time I sprinkled dried cranberries on my plate instead of raisins. I love dried cranberries from Trader Joe's.
