http://cookingwiththemark.blogspot.com

Ingredients
1/3-1/2 pound cooked fresh kielbasa, diced
1/3 1/2 pound cooked smoked kielbasa, diced
1/4 head red cabbage, finely chopped
1 onion, chopped
1/2 pound mushrooms, finely chopped
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1 large can/jar chopped tomatoes
1 small can tomato sauce
1/2 c dry white wine
1/2 c dry red wine
1 pound pasta, cooked
black pepper to taste
garlic powder to taste
1 c Parmesan or Romano cheese, grated

Directions
In a large frying pan, aute the onions for a few minutes. Then add mushrooms and cook until they start to brown. Add cabbage and cook for a few minutes. Add green pepper, and the rest of the ingredients. Stir and cook covered until cooked through and thick. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti. Coat with olive oil and set aside until ready to serve. First timeI've used Costco's organic crushed tomatoes. They were quite good.

She would mix egg noodles with well drained sauerkraut mixed with lots of caramelized onions. She'd throw in a bit of bacon or kielbasa whichever she had in the house ...then she'd dump in a container of Pot Cheese....If you can't find Pot Cheese you can use a drained large curd cottage cheese. Top with breadcrumbs and bake.

Now I know it doesn't sound that appetizing but it remains an occasional comfort food on our winter table. The first time I made it for my husband it got the OMG...pukie sounds but after a taste he lapped it up and requests it now.
