One Woman’s Painful Prescription Drug Addiction and a Boy’s Suicide.

It’s another crisp fall afternoon with owl-shaped orange and crimson leaves falling, falling in front of her dust-free window.

The silence is darkly deafening and her heart screams. She shakes her smallish head and pounds her rickety fists into the air, but not on purpose.

Sue is jonesing for a Xanax, not cheering for her yellow-haired kid who is kicking a soccer ball just a few feet away outside.

Robby gives a loose high-five to his mom and then chases the toughened ball a few yards away just near the neighbor’s jaggedy-edged red fence.

for fifteen minutes and they have to decide if you are "jonesing" as they say here or that the pain medicine you are on is not working well enough, but is better than the pain depicted in "the scream". So they under prescribe to be safe and the majority of people I have talked to these last few months, like me are to a point where we are done. I am not going to beg or be humiliated for pain relief. Either I get pain relief with dignity and care or I will check out. I will not live like this when there are alternatives but our society can only pay narcs not healers. Pass out new medicines that proudly tout side effects of "death, stroke, dementia" on TV, in magazines as better than what has worked for centuries in correct moderation.

I have documented decades of hourly intermittent almost untreatable pain in many systems.

BTW people in chronic pain volunteer and donate while we can because we have been there. So yes you will notice when we are gone. And we are someone's family.
