Paul Ryan On Abortion: 'We Want A Country Where It Isn't Even Considered'

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Paul Ryan, the Republican vice presidential nominee in 2012 and an abortion opponent, said Thursday that anti-abortion activists should try to build a broad coalition and find common ground with supporters of abortion rights as a way to advance their agenda.

Ryan, R-Wis., said in a speech to the Susan B. Anthony List that those who oppose abortion "need to work with people who consider themselves pro-choice – because our task isn't to purge our ranks. It's to grow them."

"We don't want a country where abortion is simply outlawed. We want a country where it isn't even considered," he said.

1. Like el Salvadore, where a woman is currently waiting to see if she can have a life-saving abortion?

According to a report from Amnesty International, a seriously ill and pregnant El Salvadorian woman may face jail time if she goes forward with a lifesaving and medically recommended abortion. Abortion is illegal under all circumstances in El Salvador.

The 22-year-old mother of one, identified only as Beatriz, is four-and-a-half months pregnant, but her doctors have confirmed that the fetus has anencephaly (developing without a brain and certain parts of the skull) and that the pregnancy is nonviable. In addition to the fetal diagnosis, Beatriz is experiencing critical health complications related to her lupus and kidney disease.

Capacity weapons, where gun violence is never thought of but the same whiners about abortion thinks its fine about gun violence. He gets a certain base to back him on one issue a d this is the only reason many votes one way or the other. Its about forced births but lets not care for the babies after they arrive.

I post a response to an anti-abortion/contraception/women's rights thread lately, I find myself deleting/backing out of it and just recommending the OP. My responses have become angry and harsh. I'm not sure that helps and I AM trying to take the high road.

I'll leave it up to the rest of you to imagine what I deleted in response to paul ryan. Feel free to think the worst.
