Harmony Ink/Dreamspinner Press promote Day of Silence

Harmony Ink and Dreamspinner Press will be promoting the Day of Silence this April 19th by having authors revisit their worlds and working the Day of Silence into a story. This will be the first time that characters from my upcoming book, 'Pitch', will be seen in public!

They will also be donating 20% of their sales that day to GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network)

So mark your calendars folks! Help make this event a success so that children's voices will no longer have to be silent.

D of S is a great idea but I'm having my doubts about GLSEN. Seems like it's turning into a remote unresponsive, self-perpetuating corporate entity. An internet presence, but perhaps nothing more.

After No Name Calling Week , GLSEN's other BIG annual project , in response to a... I guess ( *now*) ... computer-generated, rhetorical question from one Meg Ten Eyck ( "Do you have any unanswered questions?" ) I sent her a question about problems implementing NNCW in real life HSs. ( I had been a PS teacher and had dealt w issues related to NNCW).

I wrote ( or forwarded her) five times: No answer, no answer , no answer, no answer and ... finally...no answer.

So... WP... if you are ina poistion to do so: see if you can determine if Meg Ten Eyck actually exists and if she will reply to my email.
