Majority Say Pipeline More Important Than Climate Change

http://news.yahoo.com/majority-pipeline-more-important-climate-change-194400155.html

* According to the poll, 63 percent of Americans think that having North America free from importing oil from outside the continent is more important than reducing greenhouse gases. Thirty percent of respondents felt that reducing greenhouse gases was the priority of the two issues.

* In Canada, 55 percent selected freeing North America for imported oil as more important, while 38 percent chose addressing greenhouse gases.

* Seventy percent of Americans and 60 percent of Canadians are favorable to the idea of the Keystone pipeline, Nanos' poll revealed, with 74 and 68 percent respectively stating that they support or somewhat support proceeding with the project.

* Seventy-six percent of Americans and 66 percent of Canadians feel that a continental energy strategy should be pursued, and most of those polled from each country felt that there should be common environmental standards.

We're boned.

1. I find this hard to believe

Especially after Arkansas. This is new to a lot of people, along with fracking. I would almost bet my life they made these numbers up to make others think that maybe the pipeline isn't so bad. And with wind and solar coming around I really find this hard to believe. They may see their doom coming, and they are trying to turn it around.

2. What kind . of crap poll is . this?

Since the Keystone is intended to take the tar sands from Canada to Gulf refineries and then out of the continent for export, the whole thing appears to be a push poll.

3. The majority of people are dipshits.

They've had many years to fecklessly fuck up the planet. Why not let some smart people (scientists) decide this one, and let the majority of people decide what they want to watch on TV.

I want off of this planet.

6. True fact.

I don't care anymore how any human hates on me for how I feel about their species.
I'm just glad my time watching their SUPERFAIL is half over.
No matter how great some are, and some are incredible, as a species we're just raping our only planet and wiping out all the other lifeforms.

4. How is exporting oil going to free North America from imported oil?

Such logic eludes me.
