"The first unit at the Ningde nuclear power plant in China's Fujian province is now operating commercially.

Ningde 1 was connected to the power grid in December 2012, since when it has undergone a program of operational tests and secured the necessary regulatory approval to allow it to be declared in commercial operation on 18 April. The unit is one of four Chinese-designed CPR-1000 pressurized water reactors being built at the site, and took 58 months to build. All four Ningde units are expected to be operational by the end of 2015.

Ningde is 46% owned by China Guangdong Nuclear Power Company (CGNPC) and 44% by China Datang Corporation, with Fujian Provincial Energy Group holding the remaining 10%. "
