Use those to access the multitude of free learning opportunities that are out there, whether at the public library or MIT.

Make friends (that's a hard one when you have little in resources) who want to get ahead and meet on a regular basis to support each other, find and pool resources.

If you have a computer you can download free evaluation software from Micro$oft and learn it. If the computer is a bit older you can download Linux, and learn that. Either one can help with getting a job.

If you live in Oklahoma you have one of the best vocational-technical schools in the nation (go figure) if they haven't screwed it up yet, and there are probably other states out there with something similar. They used to have classes for about $1 an hour in technology.

Go to the doctoral-granting college nearby, (they have the best libraries) avoid the registration desk like the plague, and get a library car, many times free. Learn about business, bookkeeping.

Read some Thoreau. He had the right idea about having too much, and keeping the desire to be like all the other people out there can help you keep your head where it needs to be.

There are a lot of ways to do what you want out there, and it starts when you grok that you are your own best teacher...
