Self-appointed spokesperson for "Feminists" wants to defend the Vatican from nipples.

http://community.feministing.com/2013/01/13/thoughts-on-sextremism/

I mean who takes kindly to a bunch of topless women with flowers in their hair shouting abuse against the Catholic Church at the moment the Pope comes out to give an address?

Um, I do. I think it's great.

Yes, please, don't harass that nice old man in the big hat, you adult naked women. The nice old man in the big hat that heads the calcified organization with a documented history of helping child abusers escape justice. the nice old man in the big hat who still feels entitled to lecture consenting adults -like Gay people- about their sex lives and personal choices. (hmmm, that sounds familiar!)

Other classic bits from this piece:

I’m very liberal, but

Yeah.

the ‘freedom’ they express by wearing no clothes

there it is! Freedom in scare quotes! I think I just got BINGO!

Just don't assert that the 2nd Wavers are really religious fundamentalists in disguise or secretly shilling for the culture wars, coughEdMeesecoughworkingwithAndreaDworkincough.

I always expect the next line to be something about how they once got tipsy at a wine tasting or how they opened up their car on the highway by pushing it to "almost 80".

The primary crux of feminism as evinced by those who would use such terms is that if you aren't hating men, shaming them for being men, making jokes linking male insecurity to penis size, or dismissing men as evil sex robots from planet Testostera come to usurp your vagmagic or femenergon cubes or whatever other neo-spiritualist bunk terminology exists for this non-thing, you aren't doing it right (oh, yeah, and something about women's rights, but that's clearly a secondary concern).

My favorite part of that theory was the thing where millions of men were going to have their genitalia surgically removed just so they could get into the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival.

a so called feminist and it just a theory to invoke conversations, etc. When crap like this is put out there in the nets/blogs etc. it should be called out by everyone including feminists. Unfortunately, a lot of us, including me have gotten so sick of being ridiculed, shouted down by our own sisters on DU it doesn't happen enough.

I think some of us are in awe at the semantic and moral flexibility that allows the "so-called" folks you mention to inveigh against naked protesters while defending the Pope and Fundamentalist Islam, all in the name of opposing "The Patriarchy".

It's weird.

They are concerned with things like equal pay, family leave, health coverage, the social safety net, and abso-fucking-lutely reproductive freedom.

Not a single one freaks out and has a temper tantrum over pictires of nekkid boobies.

It makes any woman with serious feminist issues look ridiculous at some point.

But no fear, we have your back for the actual issues. Their silliness only serves to paint them as clowns.

All of this stuff has gotten so far afield, that the real issues are buried underneath it. If you don't subscribe to every crazy idea, you are 'part of the problem'.

There is a huge reproductive health care issue going on right now. Time and effort would be better spent seeing to it that this is not taken way.

Even though there is a pretty big "anti-government/taxes" undercurrent here, we've been pretty good about not letting the inmates run the asylum.
