Colombia’s Jewish community asks inspector general for position on Holocaust
posted by Wesley Tomaselli

Colombia’s Jewish community on Monday asked the country’s inspector general to clarify whether or not he is a Holocaust denier.

“We ask that Inspector General Alejandro Ordoñez give a response to the question asked by journalist Hector Abad Faciolince during an interview with Blue Radio, on April 8th, 2013,” the Confederation of Jewish Communities in Colombia (CCJC) said in a letter to Ordoñez.

In the interview, Abad asked Ordoñez if he were a Holocaust denier like the Lefebvrian Bishops. The inspector general declined to respond, reportedly claiming that the Holocaust was not the subject of discussion.

“Given the importance of the issue,” the letter reportedly declared, “There can be no doubt about the position of a public official.”
