'Traitor' to be revealed in next few days: army general .
Tuesday, 23 April 2013 06:27 Johnny Crisp

The commander of the armed forces has revealed the internal investigation over the leaking of military information to ex-President Alvaro Uribe will provide results within the next few days.

“We are very close to establishing the truth, to finding out who is responsible, who is the traitor [that is] leaking information,” said General Alejandro Navas on Wednesday.

The investigation was put in place after Uribe revealed sensitive military information, including the exact coordinates of an armed forces operation to allow negotiators from left wing rebel group FARC to join the peace talks in Havana, Cuba.

Uribe, who released the information via Twitter, claimed that the information was already public and that he was simply spreading it, however the army remain convinced that the former president gained the information through a contact in the army.

Take the time to keep up with current events regarding U.S. allies who receive heavy U.S. support.

7. He skips around a lot, doesn't he? He's probably afraid to stay in one place too long.

I don't really know where he is right now, but he doesn't miss a beat concerning Colombia.

He has been discussing recently his urge to run for Colombia's Senate. He just doesn't seem to want to get out of the spotlight, and far from the narcotraffickers like his old friend Pablo Escobar!

Yup! He was "spreading it" alright.......... in hopes his right-wing paramilitary buddies in those areas could set up ambushes for the FARK leadership as they moved through the areas the army units just left.

Check the date/time stamp of his tweet and times that the military stand down was in effect. 8 minutes into the "stand down" period.
