Correa Blames the Venezuelan Right Wing for the Violence


18/04/13. - Today the Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa severely criticized the Venezuelan right, which he blamed for unleashed after the Presidential election.

"It has always been the Venezuelan Right's strategy, backed by national and foreign groups to minimize the winning margins so they can question the legitimacy of elections and create instability," Correa said in an exclusive interview with Prensa Latina at the conclusion of his visit to Germany.

President Correa pointed out that the opposition candidate Henrique Capriles won his mid-December governorship of Miranda state with only a few dozen thousand of votes.

"I mean, he can't even win with his own argument," said Correa, recalling that Madero won with more than 200,000 votes. "But in percentage terms, that's less than two percent, and that's the scenario that allows them to create instability, the one they always look for," he said.

At the end he added that they can review whatever they want to review but as far as Ecuador is concerned, the legitimate President is Nicolas Maduro.
