CNE of Táchira formally requests recount after peaceful protest

Look at all of these violent protesters attacking the CNE of Táchira:

This is the moment it was announced that the CNE of Táchira would support a recount, in accordance with the demands of 49% of Venezuelans:

The violent, terrifying hand clapping should be denounced as a true affront to democracy!

Here they are Marching in the rain:

Umbrellas! A clear sign they are bourgeois oligarchs.

Faced with a massive demonstration that spontaneously gathered for a second day today on the threshold of a peaceful regional CNE, response to the call made by Henrique Capriles, Regional Command representatives agreed to Simon Bolivar CNE headquarters to hand over a document which requested the vote count ballots voting on Sunday April 14.

Chacin Nelson Fernandez, in his capacity as Regional Coordinator Simon Bolivar Command, accompanied by Daniel Ceballos, municipal coordinator and Dominic Sandoval, Command representative to the CNE, together with the Deputy Abelardo Diaz and Eduardo Marin formalized the request was supported by hundreds of people stationed at the gates of the CNE.

The document in question states that "in accordance with Article 51 of the Constitution, we present the formal request for recount hundred percent of the votes of all the polls, voting records and books of all tables of all centers vote from home and abroad."

It also states that "the day of the presidential elections held last April 14, 2013, the National Electoral Council gave results according to which the candidate Nicolas Maduro presumably would have been winning with 7,505,338 votes, which represents a 50.6%, on Henrique Capriles, who would have received 7,270,403 votes, representing 49.08%. Election results while not unknown, we question by now."

Do not buy the right wing meme that Venezuela is descending into violent chaos, the protests are peaceful and the demand for investigations and audits of the process are within the rule of law. Those who are against democracy can rest assured that the CNE is not likely to actually do anything about the widespread allegations of fraud. Like the Miami elites who stole the 2000 election didn't want a recount, the right wing will always be against democracy.
