Peruvian President Congratulates Venezuela's Maduro On Election Victory
LIMA, April 17 (BERNAMA-NNN-ANDINA) -- Peruvian President Ollanta Humala Monday congratulated Venezuelan newly elected President Nicolas Maduro, whom Venezuela's National Electoral Council declared the victor after Sunday's election.
Humala spoke with Maduro by telephone and told him that the incoming president has the responsibility to unify all Venezuelans, now that the election was over.
Maduro took 50.75 percent of Sunday's vote while opposition candidate Henrique Capriles took about 49 percent, DOw Jones Newswires reported.
