Venezuelan parliament speaker Diosdado Cabello on Wednesday denounced an alleged plan by the opposition to create chaos in the country if defeated in the April 14 presidential elections.

Speaking on the state-run VTV channel, Cabello, who is also the vice president of the ruling United Socialist party, presented an audio material of opposition candidate Henrique Capriles's driver as evidence of the opposition's destabilizing plan.

During the conversation, the driver spoke of an alleged intention of Capriles to reject the election results. He said Capriles knew that he should be the first to ignore the results as the opposition leader, so that his followers could protest against the elections.

Cabello believed that the telephone conversation was evident enough to charge the opposition candidate, as he "hears and knows what this man says and does."

Moreover, the parliament leader also revealed presence of Central American militants in Venezuela, who attempted to undermine the country's electoral process.

US, wouldn't be surprised if he would at least try to reject election results with an intention to destabilise the country.

regarding the use of Central American mercenaries for acts against leftist governments, mentioned in this article.

The progressives here recall learning mass murdering bomber terrorist Luis Posada Carriles obtained the services of mercenaries from El Salvador to do some dirty work for him in Cuba, later in his life. He had always taken advantage of hiring others to do the dangerous work themselves for him, keeping him not only safe, but less likely to be taken to trial for his evil crimes against humanity.

From a corporate media article:

Bomber names ex-CIA operative in Cuba bombings
By PAUL HAVEN and ANDREA RODRIGUEZ, Associated Press 11 p.m. Feb. 8, 2011

HAVANA — A Salvadoran man jailed in Cuba in connection with a string of 1990s hotel bombings says he told a U.S. prosecutor that he got explosives and money directly from a former CIA operative now on trial in Texas, and that he is willing to testify against him.

Otto Rene Rodriguez told The Associated Press in an exclusive interview Tuesday that he received powerful C-4 explosives and $2,000 in cash directly from Luis Posada Carriles to carry out an Aug. 3, 1997, bombing at Havana's Melia Cohiba hotel. He was captured trying to enter the country on a subsequent trip with 1.5 kilos (3.3 pounds) of C-4 that Posada had given him, he said.

"Truthfully, looking me in the eyes he cannot say he doesn't know me," Rodriguez said. "He does know me. He used me like a tool."

If they had anything decent to present to the majority of Venezuelans, they wouldn't have to play so low. Problem is that they are also dangerous and they have connections with even more dangerous thugs elsewhere. They will try to do everything. They would have have no problems in inciting a civil war to get power back.

Thanks a lot for sharing.

"Speaking on the state-run VTV channel, Cabello"

Surely the state run TV gave the opposition time to rebutt this, right?
