Fidel Castro advises friend North Korea against war

Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro warned ally North Korea against war on Friday and described the current tensions on the Korean Peninsula as one of the "gravest risks" for nuclear holocaust since the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962.

Saying he spoke as a friend, Castro wrote in Cuban state media that North Korea, led by 30-year-old Kim Jong-un, had shown the world its technical prowess and now it was time to remember its duties to others.

North Korea, which along with Cuba is one of the world's last communist countries, has been ratcheting up pressure by declaring war on neighbor South Korea and threatening to stage a nuclear strike on the United States.

Few observers believe it will actually attack anyone, but Castro has become an anti-nuclear advocate in recent years.

Three weeks ago Japan and China were about to start a shooting war. Now, suddenly, the US has an excuse to move massive air and naval assets to the region.

My belief is that the swiss educated Kim Jong-un is a CIA or Japanese intelligence asset.

the younger Kim that well, like everyone else. I think he would be concerned about a War like everyone else. A War on the Korean peninsula will not be this fairy tale everybody is trying to paint it to be. The belief by the Western media is the U.S. would eliminate the North Korean military just like that. They are lying. Any military possesses weapons of mass destruction including a nuclear capacity is a potent military. They have the means to disperse those weapons also. North Korea has thousands of missiles and nearly 2000 aircraft. They have a large special forces and significant enough naval crafts to carry out certain missions, especially submarine craft. What gives them an advantage is the terrain of North Korea and the Terrain of South Korea.

North Korea is farther inland with many mountains and valleys. They also have significant rainfall and floods. Most of their aircraft are in underground hangars and they have developed stealth technology such paint. Their military have far more capabilities than it did in the Korean War just like America. Their population of 24 million people doesn't look like they are crowded in urban areas. You can probably bomb the hell out of their largest city and not really damage them militarily. South korea would be much more easier to cause serious damage to. It is a country of 50 million people and looks more crowded with urban areas. A nuclear or chemical attack on South korea would be a World disaster regardless of what the U.S. or South Korean military claims because of the weapons technology today, that did not exist during the first Korean War. They better worry about their people because Kim is young and the military power at his disposable is nothing to toy with. It has nothing to do with who will win but the destruction it will cause. There want be winner or the person standing will wish they had never got into a War period. The United States Government, especially Congress has not made sound decisions lately when it comes to Wars and Foreign Policy. They rather saber rattle to prove their manhood than talk. Kim maybe the same way because of his youth. Insults will get you no where.
