My GF's 94 yr old Cuban aunt can't visit the US.

The US turned down her visitor visa. Too old. Even after proving that a visitor medical insurance policy would be purchased. Not an immigration application, an application for an under 60 day visit.
The US also rejected her 50 something caretaker's visa too. No family in Miami to vouch for her.
This news came today after filling out reams of paperwork and paying application fees.

Just f-ing crazy.

Sure. Castro did it.

It's really frustrating.

A cousin of mine had a similar experience, but going to Spain, with all the documents and money needed, and even an invitation by the City Council of Madrid, apparently by no other reason than the fact she's Brazilian.

harder to bring church people from there for a visit than it is for us to go there ourselves.

But those of us who go all agree that the visits are worthwhile and that we would like to go again some time.
