Is anyone else out there irritated by how Republicans have continued to call us the "Democrat" Party

It makes me angry that such obvious disrespect is allowed during interviews without being corrected. I know we've come up with various counter-logisms such as "Repubs" and "Rethugs" etc, but I'd like to suggest something more subtle to get their goat. From now on I'm referring to the GOP as the "Republic Party." Join me and let's watch heads explode if it starts to be used by Democrats every time they give interviews.

The beauty of it is that it is a mirror reflection of what they have done. And done very successfully, I might add.

sure, it's petty and obnoxious. but now they're handing the country over to russia, trafficking in electronic contraband, catapulting propaganda, overtly stirring up bigotry and violent sentiment, etc.

these days mocking the name of our party seems quaint.

i had thought it was all really just during his last year, i guess starting with the embassy takeover, but you're right, they did attack him over energy policy.

now that i think about it, they also blamed him the whole time for the inflation that was ignited during the nixon/ford era (that ford ineptly pretended to fight with "whip inflation now" buttons). carter still doesn't get credit for solving that problem by appointing volcker to the fed and going along with the startling hikes in interest rates.

anyway, ok, so i overstated my point. i maintain that them using "democrat" where "democratic" is appropriate is not the most important battle we face....

My right wing parents were recipients of tons of mass mailings for donations using Carter as the reason to donate to the GOP. It was the beginning of a tactic the GOP is still using, sensationalizing completely false slander against the sitting president of the US.

Last week Betsy Woodruff of Daily Beast was on MSNBC. She used "Democrat party" several times in her remarks. I emailed her about this insult and she got back to me personally, within a few minutes, and apologized. She vowed to be more careful in the future. Surprisingly good response.

"Democrat" is a noun, not an adjective. Offenders should be corrected by community grammar policing as on AM Joy.

The Regressive party.. either that or the Vichy GOP, meaning, are they hapless puppets of the Russians, or autocratic collaborators?
