Pesky YouTube popup alert issue-any ideas?

For the past couple of weeks, every time I open a YouTube link, a suspicious looking alert pops up over the bottom right corner of the video, and the video screen dims into the background.

The alert says, “YouTube crashed. Would you like to contribute to anonymous crash reports for this and future crashes to help us fix issues like this? Yes/No”. I don’t trust the alert, so I don’t click Yes or No. The dimmed-out video plays behind the distracting, frozen alert. Very frustrating.

You don't say what kind of machine you're using ... Windows? Mac? A phone? Does it fail with other browsers? Chrome? Firefox? If you're using Flash, have you installed the latest (from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ not some random site!) ...

It sounds like malware to me, but it might be legit. I didn't find much when I googled that text.

Ah, well at least you don't have to worry about Flash (there is no flash on iPhone/iPad). You can watch youtube videos on your iPad using either a browser or with the YouTube application. It might be worth trying the youtube app if you're using a browser (or a browser if you're using the app).

Oh, and since it's an iPad, chances are much less that it's malware ... though still not zero!
