1. I love this.

I knew some of these things were possible, but it never occurred to me to do it with scraps. I am going to have to try this. Well, I'll try Level 1, and probably some Level 2. I want to see this work!

2. This looks doable and might be fun to try at least once. Here's the list:

Level 1:
Scallions
Garlic sprouts
Romaine lettuce
Cabbage
Basil

Level 2:
Celery
Lemongrass
Onions
Bok Choy

Level 3
Avocado tree from an avocado pit
Sweet potatos
Ginger Root
Pineapples

3. The sweet potato isn't that difficult

I have one sitting in a bowl with garlic bulbs. Took a close look the other day, and saw that it's put out a 5-inch-long shoot. If I bury it on one of the vegetable beds, there's a good chance I will harvest at least half a dozen sweet potatoes in October.

4. I have scallions, onions, red and white and celery growing so far

The onions and celery have just sprouted roots, the scallions are growing new green parts

6. Did this once

With garlic... made my kitchen stink!!

7. Add Fennel to the list.

I have one going now. Just cut the root end and place it in a bowl with some
water. just like celery.

8. I planted a ginger sprout once

It shot up to a foot tall in about 3 weeks. Then my cat ate it.
