Can you imagine a football club appointing a manager who praised the King's Cross bombers? (Original Post) non sociopath skin Apr 2013 OP

If he defended Stalin's purges, or the bloodshed of Tiananmen Square, then I'm sure it would be. LeftishBrit Apr 2013 #2

Fascism is so intrinsically associated with support for violence that it should not be given this sort of respectability!

Also: I'm as un-nationalist as you get, but given that lots of nationalism IS attached to football, is it really appropriate that a representative of an enemy organization should be the manager of a British football team? I am sure that there are a fair number of Sunderland supporters, whose grandfathers died fighting fascism. I have no problem with an Italian citizen being the manager - but an active fascist?

ETA: To emphasize again: this is not a problem with any other nation, but with violent ideologies. I also would not be happy with someone who expressed support for the Taliban, for example.

If a Sunderland fan were to give a fascist salute at, say, a Spurs game, he would be banned.

But this guy gets the top job? Beyond belief!
