Madison - Gov. Scott Walker's administration has again revised the rules governing the daily protests at the state Capitol that recently marked their second full year. The revised rules allow the administration to cite spectators of a demonstration who refuse to withdraw from a prohibited event. They would also allow the state Department of Administration to waive a 72-hour requirement for requesting permits for most demonstrations at the Capitol.

People protesting Walker's policies at the Capitol have received about 140 citations since September but none of those has resulted in a conviction, a Democratic lawmaker said at a separate news conference. About 68 of the citations have been dismissed so far by either prosecutors or judges, Rep. Chris Taylor (D-Madison) said in a news conference Thursday.

Taylor said the ongoing prosecutions of Walker protesters are a waste of money for taxpayers and are curbing free speech. She said the administration's failure to win its citation cases shows they don't have the law on their side.

...

Next week, a lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union against the Walker administration over the citations is scheduled to have a hearing in federal court.

Walker and the turds who blindly serve him just can't tolerate free speech and dissent. Too bad for them, cuz the Solidarity Singers show no signs of giving up or bowing to the intimidation.
